About This Dog

Gruff's ideal home

Gruff is a 9 month old Cavalier x poodle boy who is still discovering the world. He can be a little shy and wary when meeting new people, but his curiosity soon shines through and his friendly bouncy, zoomie side shows. He is super friendly and very excitable when seeing other dogs, and we feel he would thrive in a home with a confident, playful dog. We see no reason that Gruff can not live with other dogs (females must be neutered) and with children who understand how to be calm and gentle around young bouncy dogs. He does have lots of energy, he is learning how to play and have fun—playing with toys is a brand-new and exciting experience for him. He loves to throw them around in the garden as part of his zoomie routine!

Could you be Gruff's perfect match?

Gruff enjoys the garden and going out his walks, a secure, private garden would be preferable, both to help him safely explore the outdoors and support with housetraining. Gruff is a truly lovely boy who, with lots of love, patience, and understanding, will grow into an amazing and rewarding family companion. He returned to us when having ‘off lead’ time in a secure field and was praised with vocals and treats. He will need on-going training with loose lead walking as he does tend to pull, he loves to sniff, and this means he follows his nose! Gruff will need to be groomed regularly and have his hair clipped approximately every 6 weeks - so potential adopters need to consider this. If you are a pawfect match with Gruff, please be aware that you will meet Gruff at our center near Penrith. You'll then adopt and take him home on the same day.
