Heidi
About This Dog
Heidi's ideal home
Heidi is a sweet, gentle older girl who would love a calm, quiet to moderately busy home with a predictable routine and plenty of time to rest. She’ll be happiest in a settled home with minimal steps, a cosy place to relax, garden access, and adopters who are around most of the day or can keep leaving times short once she’s settled.
She could live with dog‑savvy primary‑age children who respect her space and handle her gently. Heidi has some ongoing medical needs, including pain relief for mobility. Her care and potential costs will be discussed with shortlisted applicants—please don’t hesitate to apply if this is a concern.
Heidi can live as an only dog or with a calm, respectful canine companion and may also be suitable for a home with cats. On walks, she is polite around other dogs and prefers to keep to herself.
Could you be Heidi's perfect match?
Heidi is a nine‑year‑old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel cross Bichon Frise looking for a relaxed retirement home where she can enjoy life at her own pace.
Heidi came into our care as her previous owner was no longer able to meet her needs. She has experience living in a home environment and has settled well into foster care, showing herself to be a gentle and affectionate companion once she feels safe.
She is a sweet, sensitive girl who forms strong bonds once she feels secure. She enjoys short, sniffy walks and then relaxing close to her people. Heidi is not demanding for attention but appreciates gentle fuss, calm companionship, and a predictable home where she can truly settle and feel safe.
She is housetrained and clean in the home, happily holding on until she is let outside.
Once settled, Heidi could be left for short periods, up to around 3–4 hours. She settles well when left and has shown no signs of distress or destructive behaviour.
Heidi travels well in the car. She is calm, quiet, and will lie down for the journey, making her a good companion for local trips and vet visits.
Heidi is currently living in a foster home, where she has enjoyed home comforts such as relaxing on the sofa, pottering in the garden, and following a steady routine.
